// currently building, currently learning — lately with AI in the mix
Ali
Zain Aslam
MERN stack developer, based in ITALY with decent wifi.
I build small, working things for the web — mostly out of curiosity
about how the pieces fit together, and increasingly, how to wire AI
into practical, everyday tools without it feeling bolted on.

A few things I've built
and actually finished.
01
Fatte.it
2025
// responsive · DARK/WHITE theme
I had the opportunity to develop a responsive and modern landing
page for Fatte.it using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I focused on
creating an engaging and user-friendly experience, incorporating
smooth navigation, clear call-to-actions, and interactive
elements. The page was carefully optimized for performance and
responsiveness across all devices.

Tributify
2024
// memberships · payments · creator tools
I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of
Tributify, a platform that helps creators connect with their fans
through gifts and exclusive content. I worked on the front-end in
close collaboration with the backend developer, integrating the
user interface with the platform’s functionality and helping bring
the project to completion. I focused on creating a responsive,
modern, and user-friendly experience while ensuring consistency
and smooth performance across devices.

// 02 — about
I got into this because I wanted to build a website for a project that
didn't exist yet, and never really stopped.
What I enjoy building
Small, complete things. I'd rather ship a task manager that
actually works than half-finish something ambitious. I like the
moment where the frontend and backend finally talk to each other
correctly.
What I'm learning right now
TypeScript, properly this time. How to design good prompts and
actually useful AI features, instead of bolting a chat widget onto
things. And enough design to know why a layout feels wrong before
I know how to fix it — which is most of why this site exists.
Why the web
It's the one place I can have an idea before dinner and something
clickable by the end of the night. That feedback loop is still the
whole appeal.
// 03 — toolkit
What I work with.
-
Frontend
React · JavaScript (ES6+) · CSS · accessibility basics
-
Backend
Node.js · Express · REST API design
-
Data
MongoDB · schema design · basic query performance
-
Workflow
Git · GitHub · deploying things without breaking them
-
AI integration
AI models · prompt design · RAG & embeddings
// 04 — experiments
Smaller things, built for no reason.
Not every project needs a purpose. These didn't.
-
JavaScript / CLI
Cat tool
A command line tool, that use two APIs for JSON data. Implemented
few test according to challenge.

NodeJS / JWT
Social AI backend
This is the backend for the Social AI project. It is built using
Node.Ts and Express.js, and it uses MongoDB as the database. It
generates captions for images using the gemini API. It also has a
simple authentication system using JWT.

GitHub User Finder
A simple GitHub User Finder built with JavaScript, GitHub API, and
DOM manipulation. Users can search for GitHub profiles, see
real-time username suggestions, and view detailed information
about a selected user.

Portfolio v2
Yes, this one. First real attempt at intentional layout and
motion.
